While working on the architectural concept of the observation tower on Polak Hill in Panasówka, being aware of the size and height of the object, we tried to develop a solution that would not dominate the landscape and at the same time become a characteristic element recognizable in the panorama of the Park, from which it will be possible to observe the cultural, harmonious landscapes of Roztocze.
Focusing on the organizer’s guidelines regarding the project using solutions to minimize the negative impact on the harmonious landscape, we knew that it could not be a form monotonously rising upwards with a uniform staircase. The ambition to refer to the organic form of a tree and use matte construction elements, harmonizes the observation tower with the landscape sourrounding it.
The tower’s geometry is defined by a sequence of meandering staircases, creating moments of rest with smaller landings and various views in all cardinal directions, thus not impeding smooth movement toward the top of the tower.
